I believe in gettting my money's worth out of products. So much so that often times people will often tell me, "Stop wearing that". Sometimes they say this about one of my free shirts. More often, though, it is about other parts of my outfits. Most often, people are upset about my shoes.

I infamously wore a pair of Etonic Stable Airs for two years in high school that had huge holes on both sides. I also wore out a pair of Bill Blasses pretty good. I can also remember a pair of Nike Forces I wore when I was wee and it was passed between myself, a friend named Tom (not any of the modern donors), Chad, back to Donor Phoof, and then I finally wore them out. Males do not usually pass around clothing like that between each other, I am aware. We were young and innocent back then. I also had a pair of shoes valued by the commuinty for some reason.

So I can understand if people are confused if I accepted a pair of shoes from another man on Valentine's Day and am happy about it. Surely, I had to pay him back somehow. No. Donor Aaron explained that he likes to do good deeds and he was upset at the state of my shoes. Although I am quite fine about my shoes in the delapidation that they were in, we all know I love to get free stuff. By free, I mean no payback whatsoever.

Donor Aaron is a genuinely nice person that is unaware of this page right here even as far as I know. I don't mean to make him sound creepier than he is. As far as I can tell he has no hidden motive than wanting to do good. If he did have other motovation than serving Jesus, he helped ensure that I dropped the class wher he gave me a pair of shoes. I am unaware of his existence after he gave me these shoes.

Donor Tom, a man of letters remarked that, "The free shoe archive sounds very dull at first, but maybe there is potential. You lack an affinity for fine footwear, though." I suppose that is partially true on both counts. I am too particular with my shoe preferences to sustain a site based on free shoes. As far as lacking an affinity for fine footwear, I suppose I do not love shoes. I wear them. However, I would appreciate a fine pair if they were to become available to me. I have just been disappointed so many times in the past.

A shoe that I will wear must meet my demanding specifications. It must accomodate my wide feet. It must be all black. It may not have a heel of height. It ought to be as light as possible. I would prefer no laces. This shoe ought to have the best possible worksmanship, and be sold at the lowest possible price. So far I would say the shoes succeed on all counts well. The lightness is lighter then the pair of shoes my parents bought me without my permission when another pair of my shoes were looking too bad for them. However, I have not worn these shoes enough to come to any particular analysis on them.

I am saving this gift for special occassions like court, marriages, and funerals.

UPDATE: I am now wearing these as my daily shoes after my mother bought me another pair for $17 at some Kohl's department store sale.
