Life Flight
Physical Description: The front of the shirt features a small logo above the left pec. A white wing with aqua outlines is the first thing to see. Next to the wing is a circular formation. The outside ring is blue and has "ST VINCENT", a dot, "MEDICAL COLLEGE", another dot, and "ST. RITA'S" in white. Inside the circle is a white field that has "SINCE" in tiny aqua above a helicopter. Under the helicopter is "1979". To the right of the circle is another wing like the one previously described. On top of the very bottom of the circle is a sharp rhombus with white writing and alternating background colors. The top portion starts with the blue back grounded "LIFE" followed by the aqua background "FLIGHT". There is a little separation which allows the blue just mentioned with a new blue about to be mentioned soon. The bottom portion has an aqua back grounded "MOBILE" next to the "LIFE" with blue background that is finally mentioned. The bottom part of "MOBILE" continues like the first life did.

The back of the shirt has a design which makes me glad that I previously instituted a policy of not mentioning the minor sponsors. There are a lot of fire departments and medical services listed on the back in teeny-tiny white. In the center and underneath a lot of names are three blue silhouettes of helicopters.

Yet another thing I am fortunate to not have any experience with is being flown for my life in a helicopter; although I have been rushed in a road ambulance. Even then, that experience is one where I do not remember much of what happened. As it should be. Joyriding in an ambulance is an insult to the job that medics do.

I totally respect the medics and nurses who actually do the non-glorious duties that are part of keeping other people alive and well. I could not handle that job myself since I do not have any desire to do that type of work. I will not take those people for granted. Health care administrators and insurance companies, though, they can all just go die and be taken care of by the real deliverers of health.

Furthermore, I have never flown in a helicopter. The opportunity has never presented itself to do so. I think I would take that opportunity if it arose. Maybe I will suffer more pain to the point that I get lifeflighted somewhere. Let's hope not. I want to live to get more free shirts and to write about them. I do this all in case you care.

I acquired this shirt during "Donor Brian's Party of Five". That sure was a fun party sandwiched between two crazy drives. The party was not so crazy that anyone had to go to the hospital over it. I certainly prefer that kind of party over the kind where people get hurt.
