J&J Gardens was a greenhouse. It was a typical local greenhouse that sold flowers, seeds, and other gardening things. I went to it a couple of times when I was younger with my parents. It survived for a very long time despite being an indepedent in a town that was increasingly welcoming corporate greenhouses. When J&J finally quit the business, the plot was empty for a short while before a new company took over. The new company puts on a more appealing public face which probably helps to keep them around over the apathy J&J was known to display.
My mother one time won a free gift certificate at a drawing they held where the winner had to be present to win the certificate. In the end, there were something like fifteen winners for one prize. Since she was the first winner that was present she walked away with the spoils. She ended up buying some plants with her winnings. Most of the plants she wonare still alive.
My grandmother was in the employ of J&J Gardens for many years in her retirement because she liked to have something to do. My grandmother made bows for the holidays. When I was young I thought it was so silly that such a job existed. Now, I might even consider working it to get some extra money.
This shirt is really a triple extra large according to the size tag. I think it was shrunk a little, but is still very roomy. Most likely this was either my grandmother's or someone she work with's shirt. I don't think it could have been my grandmother's shirt because she was simply not that big, nor did I know of her to like shirts that would have fit like MC Hammer's parachute pants.
