National Events
Physical Description: The front left of the shirt begins with part of a blue rhombus outline that provides a frame that will be overlapped at every possible point in the future of the design. "NATIONAL" is written in blue and interrupts the line at about the middle portion of the letters. In the middle of the rhombus is a design that will take a little bit of time to explain. The simplest way I can think to explain this is to imagine an N and E which share a stroke on a side to end the N and start the E. The N's left side has an eagle beak near the top. The beak and what would be the bald eagle's head are blue. Cross the way over the top horizontal part of the E and you will see red. The N's first peak is filled with a treble clef that is clear white formed by a slightly darker blue outline. Underneath the blue and red is a line of white. The boundaries are formed by yet more blue lines. After that white line gets done with itself, another red line colors in the rest of the "NE". This gives it an American flag feel. At the bottom right of the rhombus "EVENTS" is written out in comic blood red.

The back also has a fun design. "NATIONAL EVENTS" is spelled out in a quarter-circular arch. We then see a red explosion type of shape. This shape is formed from many differently sized triangles shooting out from a central point. To the off-right we return to the treble clef iconography. This time, the clef is formed with blue and has a white outline. To the immediate right of the outline of the clef are four blue lines. Top line ends at a point furthest from the clef. Bottom line ends at a point closest to the clef. "N A M F SPRING FESTIVALS" is to the bottom and right of the treble clef explosion.

Donor Ian has let his violin-playing take him places. I presume one of the places was to a NAMF festival or "megafestival". My guess is that this shirt came from the exploits of being in the Boardman High School orchestra because I can remember the Orchestra going to Toronto every year and winning the entire competition nearly every year that I went to high school. The NAMF sponsers one of their "megafestivals" every year in Toronto. Now you understand my deduction. Never forget it.

Toronto, Ontario is a fun city. I have taken a few vacations up there in my time. Although it can be slightly pricey, there is a lot of stuff to do there and the attitude is just so much better then it is back home. I would not hesitate to go to Toronto again for any reason. Goodtimes.

The NAMF's site was first constructed in 1997. It is still in use at the time of this write-up. I know I would be wondering about the professionalism of NAMF if some site about someone's shirt takes time to mention how old their site looks. Not that this here site is the best looking, either. Perhaps, in the coming years, the free shirt archive will look as outdated as the NAMF site. I could only imagine what technology has in store for us in the future. Still, I reckon that the hobbyist will have more dedication then the dirty, musically-travelled capitalists.
