Divi Resorts
Physical Description: The front of this free shirt has a design that consists of a main frame followed by explanatory text. It has got to be one of the worst descriptions I have written because it is so boring to write about, but isn't so bad considering its purpose to see.
A tropical adventure when you look at my chest. The scene starts off with a palm tree leaf that is obscured by an iguana sitting on some sort of branch that goes from green to brown. The iguana itself goes from a gradient of the free shirt archive green to free shirt archive yellow but also has dark green stripes and a black dot eye. The brown part of the branch continues to where there are more leaves and two parrots. The parrots are of magenta bodies with green beaks, eyes, and feet and also have yellow to green to blue wings. It looks like the two birds are talking to each other. Whatever they could possibly be talking about more than likely makes more sense than the design on this shirt. After the birds, the branch turns back into vine.
Behind the tree and animals is a light blue sky. Within the blue sky is a three-layered cloud. The cloud is formed by the an increasing amount of clear dots the further one journeys within the cloud.
Venture down and you will see two waves that are clearly of the water that is formed my mixing together blue, light blue, sea green in a sloppy enough of a manner that no one will raise any objections. At the peak of the second wave is the beginning of a an island with some topography to it. The island is green with light green highlights. There are some darker green palm trees along with spots of yellow for a beach. On the left side of the island are two windsurfers. The windsurfer on the left's sail is clear white with an orange and magenta line. The windsurfer herself has brown hair and is wearing a magenta bikini. Her board is red with a bottom. The windsurfer on the right has his sail of clear white with three yellow to orange dots lines. He is wearing yellow shorts. This guy's board is orange to magenta back to orange. Further to the right and out at sea from the island are two dolphins jumping out of the water.
Inexplicably, one of the more confusing things I have ever seen on a shirt in my free shirt collection appears. A sun appears. The Divi version has a bright yellow sun setting very close to the horizon. There are eight rays that are simply lines of light yellow. One of the rays is obscured by a sailboat. The rays go into a yellow circle. The yellow circle has within it fourteen thicker rays of even lighter yellow. These thick rays are on top of a band of orange. These are on top of the continued yellow circle. In the center of the whole thing is a light orange heart. Dice do appear on top of the sun. At about 12 o' clock and 10 o' clock these large dice are floating. They are clear white with black dots. The top dice has two dots on top, six dots on the left, and three dots on the right. The bottom die is slanted to the left and has one dot on top, five to left, and four on the right.
The interrupting sailboat has a red flag at the top of its mast. Two sails power the boat. The left sail is bigger and is clear white with a single, completely yellow line as its decoration. The right sail is clear white an unornamented. The ship on the bottom is flying another red flag. There are two people onboard. One has brown hair and a yellow jacket with their arm pointing to something. The other also has brown hair but is wearing a fuchsia jacket. They are in a light brown colored boat.
At the bottom left of the whole design there is a brief return to land. A green line appears. There is light green fairway with a black flagpole and red flag. Will there be golfer? Yes, there will be. However, the golfer, although he is wearing a light blue hat, green shirt, khaki pants and really light brown shoes has his iron club of some sort, is no even looking in the direction towards the hole. Behind him and chubby young girl with long brown hair in a one piece swimsuit has a red shovel in one hand and her other hand on a sandcastle that is built. The sandcastle is light brown, but the sand as before is a yellow. There is a hole dug in the sand and two castles. The girl's castle is pretty big compared to the next castle on the right. It has a magenta flag and black pole on the top. The castle to the right is much modest. A simple small castles is all that the boy to right wearing a clear white shirt and a yellow and orange baseball cap can do.
The next few animals make no sense. A flamingo, twelve fish and two scuba diving people somehow are seen. The flamingo may or may not be n the water, but is likely not on any land. All of the fish and the scuba diving couple would be assumed to be in water, but the water is not clear because it is a mixture of blue and green that can not be clear. I can't even take these things seriously.
At the very bottom right outside of the design "emco" is spelled out in black.
There is a green shape that is formed by part of a crescent moon, three dashes and a squiggle coming from the part-moon. Above the squiggle, a orange half-circle outline appears framing clear white. Underneath the squiggle is a multi-colored "DIVI RESORTS". The "D" is pink. The first "I" is light orange. "V" is green. The second "I" is orange. The first "R" is purple. The "E" is orange. The first "S" is pink. The "O" is green. The second "R" is light blue. The "T" is pink. Finally, the second "S" is light orange.
The next words are all centered and also all in black. Small letters say "So many islands. So much fun." The next line has what feel to be more normal sized letters. Those letters are "ARUBA".
In a bizarre twist, I am rewarded for two other people going on a honeymoon. I had not seen neither Jess nor Tony after their marriage and honeymoon until I stopped over out of the blue one September 22nd. After the pleasantries that are exchanged after someone enters a home, I was presented with this shirt and regaled with talk of the Aruban vacation. This promotional free shirt was given to them by time-share salespeople. I was told that the quote at the time was that this shirt was going to end up in the free shirt archive.
I have never been to Aruba, but would probably enjoy any trip to the Caribbean since I have yet to go to that part of the world. I understand that Aruba itself is a tourist trap. I may not really enjoy myself if I go to a place that caters to travelers with money. I recall Las Vegas, as an example, really only providing the best of stuff of which I am not interested. Perhaps sand and mixed drinks would get boring after awhile. Nonetheless, if someone were to give me a free Aruban vacation, I would not hesitate to go. I'd even set up a website about such a vacation. If I had to pay, at least I would have had the experience. Of course, since I have never been I'm totally relying on other peoples' information. I should find out for myself, but I don't know if I definitely care enough to make the sacrifices I would need to in order to make such a trip a reality.
The Natalee Halloway story was all of the rage as far as American concern towards Aruba during the honeymoon. Personally, I found the whole thing to be disgusting. It is terrible that someone went on a trip and was never heard from again.
My concern was more with the media that blew one particular case of possible abduction, possible murder, and possible sex slavery over all of the others. The media should be a little more objective in their coverage of such cases. Lest I start to know that one rich, little white girl is supposed to mean more than another other person. Of all the other things that go on in the world, most issues of merit are ignored by the American media so they can report on sensationalist stories. Those Americans who keep up on such stuff are also to blame for accepting what the media tells them and then telling me like I care or can do anything about the situation. If the average newsviewer and newsreader would demand more from the media, then they would get better news. This is not going to happen until the American empire is weakened a little bit.
I can not blame the parents for trying to get authorities to find their daughter. You have to use the tools available to get stuff accomplished.
