I do not mind donating blood. It is an easy way to help other people out. Yet, I admit that I should do it more often than I do. Part of why I do not donate as often as I should is that it is hard to remember to keep up on a once every 56 day habit. Plus, finding a place to donate and work it into my schedule is not always simple. Blood donation is certainly something I would do all of the time if I could do it myself, but I am glad that the Red Cross does not accept blood in this manner.
I know there has been an occasion or two where I got someone else's blood. I would like to thank whoever the donors were for the small sacrifice that they indirectly made for me. If I could do more to honor them that with a paragraph they may never read, I would. I do not think that I can do anything for them, but I try to do more for others with sporadic blood donation.
I once got more than I deserved for donating blood. This time was when I won a television for donating blood while I was on the clock at the grocery store that I worked at. I did not even want the television, but I had to fill out a slip so that I would be excused for the time that I spent in the bloodmobile.
O+ is the blood type that flows through these veins and arteries. As such, I really should be out there donating more often than I am since O is the universal donor. I guess I just naturally have something to give that other people can use other than commentaries on freedom.
Would I bleed for you? Yes.
